REAL WEDDING - ANNA & SAM, TYNEMOUTH

Anna & Sam married at Tynemouth Cricket Club, in the coastal town in North East England. The modern BB:05 dress by Bon Bridé was the perfect dress for Anna and Sam’s intimate, relaxed and fun wedding.

WHICH MRS W DRESS DID YOU WEAR AND HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS THE ONE

I went for a Bon Bride gown. The dress felt amazing on and I felt was just a match to me as a person - that’s how I knew it was the one! I also felt like it was a dress no one expected to see me in!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO VISIT MRS W AND HOW DID YOU FIND US? TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE.

I actually walked past the shop before it opened and it had a ‘coming soon’ sign up! I had a look on the website and loved what I seen and felt like the style of the dresses were amazing. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted or how I would have even describe what I was looking for but this bridal boutique just encompassed it! When I walked in its safe to say I could have picked any dress in there and felt a million pounds in it. Lauren herself picked a dress up and its one I would have never have thought to try. As soon as I seen myself it was such an amazing moment. People always say you know when you’ve found the one and I never thought this was a thing, but oh my god it is truly a thing!! I’m so thankful I came as Lauren just listened to what I said, gained such a good sense of what my character is and picked out the most perfect dress and veil to match. It was such an amazing experience, one of the best of my life.

did you visit many bridal boutiques before finding your dress?

I had visited no boutiques before I came to Mrs W, although I had cancelled a couple of appointments elsewhere as I was dreading finding a dress!

Talk to us about your bridal dress journey. Did you always have a certain dress designer or style in mind? How did you start your dress journey?

I always thought I wanted a short/midi causal wedding dress - I wanted a causal wedding and felt this would match it. I had never been able to imagine myself in a long gown as I just did not think I would suit this!

tell us about when you met your husband and how did you know he was the one?

Sam and I first met about 10 years ago when I worked in the local pub and probably exchanged about three words in the entire time I worked there haha. The first sign of any romance was about a year or so later when we bumped into each other up in town and we recognised each other from the pub, he took my number and we went on a date the very next day! Two YEARS later he decided to ask me on the second date haha, which I for obvious reasons declined! Throughout the years there were a few encounters in which dates were politely declined but a terrible joke (on his part) on an August evening around 5 years ago is where the romance blossomed and that second date was arranged. By the end of the second date I knew we were made for each other, and have never looked back since!… although I do bring up the fact he never asked me out on a second date whenever the opportunity presents itself hahaha!

ThE PROPOSAL

This one was done slightly backwards haha. We had a chat about getting married one morning and within maybe 10 minutes of this conversation we rang the registry office for the next available date and voila, the wedding was booked! The actual proposal happened a few weeks later when we were walking home one night after telling all our friends about the wedding, he got down on one knee and proposed when it was just him and I. I loved every moment of it.

favourite moments from the day?

My favourite moment of the day was when I’d requested it just to be Sam and I about 60 seconds before walking down the aisle. I wanted to share a first look with just each other and it was such a special moment in the day.

what would be your advice to brides looking for their dress? Any top tips?

My one and only bit of advice would be to keep your mind open. Dresses you never thought you’d go for could turn out to be the most amazing ones! Even if you’re dead set on a style, take the chance and try other styles on.
